The brief was to design and make a book based on a figure featuring in the media at the time. I chose Nelson Mandela, as he was a man with so much history. I decided to focus on the two sides of Mandela; during his lifetime he was considered not only as a freedom figher but, by others, a terrorist.
For this I created two books, the first focusing on Mandela's victory of apartheid.
The second part of the book focuses on the negatives of Mandela's life - the not-so known parts of his history. I felt it was important to include both of these perspectives.
Both books were bound back to back, allowing the reader to turn the book to see a different perspective.
