"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7 I really love this Scripture because it doesn't just talk about surrender, but it also addresses anxiety, worry, prayer, peace, and protecting our hearts. It reminds us that we don't have to be anxious about what tomorrow holds; instead, we can take our concerns to God through prayer and have a heart-to-heart with Him about it. When we truly grasp that God is in complete control of what happens next, that's when we experience His peace. We gain His understanding and learn not to worry. Within this safe space, we can then shield our hearts and minds from the lies of the enemy. You see, the enemy wants our thoughts to be in constant turmoil, but God desires us to be at peace.
