Uncorrupt Fest: Kisah dari Katung

Uncorrupt Fest: Kisah dari Katung
Comic Strip & Exhibition

2022
Role: author, illustrator
Client: Indonesia Corruption Watch
Gallery: Kala di Kalijaga (Jakarta, Indonesia)

In commemoration of International Anti-Corruption Day, ICW hosted a comic-strip exhibition that tells fictional stories inspired by real corruption cases to show the general public the negative impacts of corruption throughout society. “Kisah dari Katung” tells the story of an indigenous tribe whose land was stolen and how it affected their livelihood over the years.

The comic strip is comprised of four stories and four different conflicts, all of which are rooted in the main conflict — the stolen indigenous land. While the story, characters and setting are fictional, the conflicts mentioned are real and the cultural references are as close to the real tribe as I could replicate. The name and location of the real village have been omitted for safety reasons.
