Title: Feeling California. Inspiration: “Outshined”, a song by Soundgarden written by Chris Cornell, in 1991.

 

Concept: A quest to find out the self. Dark and brutally honest. Perhaps a bit of sci-fi and a whole lot of drama. Two main characters, meet each other during their own search for a purpose in life.

 

I took images from http://www.free-picture.net, a great source for backgrounds and other large images. The man with wings was found courtesy of http://darkladystock.deviantart.com.

 

I used the same background for both ads, just moved (free transform) them around a bit to get what I wanted. the people were extracted from their original backgrounds. I applied the HDR tutorial from the book to both of them, however I much prefer how the female image turned out. I would go back again and tweak the male image to make it look more similar to the female image.

 

I used the Shelton Slab Regular font and applied the multiply blend mode, added a satin and outer glow effect to coordinate it with the rest of the image. The actors names are Blakely Bold font with the same style applied to it as the title.
