MEMENTO:POINT

»Memento:Point« is the project of talented jewellery designer Elena Esaulova, an author and an artist at LENAGINARIUM project, which is focused on upcycling using vintage and antique jewellery pieces to give them a new life.

This project was a statement on the value of jewellery that changes over time, with references to the mythology of different cultures, in which the image of the chimera as impossible but beautiful in its terrible power, is the embodiment of the very essence of rebirth and the acquisition of new meanings. Memento:Point became a part of various exhibitions, the jewellery items went to museums and private collections.

My personal part of this incredible project was a visual part which includes the visual identity, photo shooting, retouching and making the printing catalogue.

Typography
The typo is very important here. It should utilise not only for sending a direct message and describing the conception, but should mirror features of combinations between antique and modern eras.
It was very important to create a weird accent fontface which literally sent a spectator to the idea of the chimera's look.

PHOTOGRAPHY
When photographing and retouching jewellery, a lot of attention is paid to detail and getting the textures, colours, reflections and lustre of gems right. But that's the real fun of the process.

Retouching

Of course, in addition to printed materials,
digital ones were also actively used in communication.
