I created a render of the Greek Marble Statue of a Lion from The Met Fifth Avenue Gallery. I wanted to learn how to render stone textures and thought that this statue would a great way to learn that. The statue has all sorts of stone textures to work with that would be fun to render as well as a challenge. I used Prismacolor Premier Fine Point Markers to create this render.
Once I finished the render and was happy with the results, I decided to color it. I used the program Procreate to add color by turning the layer with the render on it into a multiply layer and painted underneath the layer.
This reference of a Greek Marble Statue of a Lion was from The Met Fifth Avenue Gallery website. I chose this as my reference for the render because it had a lot textures on it that would challenge me, while learning to render stone textures with markers.
