This was a projest that I did for an Illustration project, I redesigned the 1927 Fritz Lang's Metropolis.

For redesigning this movie poster, I decided to go with the art deco and dark style just like the original movie poster, to maintain the authenticity and feel of the movie. I used manual illustration for the main image of the poster, as I am not that good at digital illustrations, not I have a tablet or any other tools to support digital painting. Then I cropped the image in adobe photoshop, and gave it a black background.I added spotlight effects by making triangle shapes in illustrator and copying it to photoshop. Then I added grainy effect to blend them into the illustration. I also added a bit of sepia color effect to make it look retro, as the original movie was made in the 1920’s. The fonts I used are Odessa LET(title) and Market Deco (credits) to match the art deco theme.
