3D: Fennec
Intro
If only you love this! I'm not going to say that it's very simple, nor that it's very difficult.
It's like playing a very complex and interesting computer game with a very deep and exciting story. Sometimes you're in stress, sometimes inspiration, sometimes pleasure. If you don't want to stop, it's yours.
FENNEC
Shape
The first step it was for me to make from cube a fox similar in shape. This is a real sculptural work. A cross between plasticine and stone, only in 3d with a mouse and a stylus.

Okay! This is not one cube))) There were several cubes, but they were combined into one imperfect grid with more over 5 500 000 polygons.
And then an even bigger test awaited me - to create a perfect grid with a perfect topology on top of my object completely manually... again. This is called retopology. In this moment I began to appreciate the work of 3D designers even more.
But you see how my fox turns into a perfect mesh object. It's like cyberspace gave me a birthday present. And it began to consist of a much smaller number of polygons. Which greatly simplifies the process. Only 86 000 instead of 5 500 000.
The next step is to use the magic of the blender and add more details by subdividing polygons into smaller ones, plus applying highpoly original model for save surface features. And the resulting detailed model should be adjusted with a reference in sculp mode again.
First level of detail.
Fourth level of detail.
SHADING
It's time to cut my model in the form of flat pictures for drawing. UDIM workflow requires unwrap the mesh on UV maps.
I really don't know what a fennel looks like without fur, but I imagine it this way)))
FURRRRRR
Another painstaking job is to make this model FURRY. At the same time, the proportions have become clearer. Corrected it.
BONES
Only in 3D modeling does everything end with bones. Whereas in reality, it seems like everything should start with them. The skeleton, bone management and rigging are ready. You can put it in a pose.
FIN
Once the bones appeared, you can sit and relax. Take a look at the work done and celebrate the result.
