INSPER
MAGAZINE GAJI VOL.21
NODONGYO
PAPER SAMPLE KIT
We were responsible for designing and producing the 21st issue of GAJI, a magazine published by Hansol Paper’s brand, INSPER. Gaji provides a platform free from format restrictions, with the only requirement being an emphasis on the tactile nature and properties of paper. Thus, we designed this issue as a package containing an array paper accessories. Anchored in the theme of “NODONGYO” (a portmanteau of the Korean words for labor + folk song), we delved into the social concept of labor, dissecting it into “workplace” and “music”. Once the perforated edge is torn, the kit unfolds, presenting a brightly colored visual of a hard hat, safety vest, and safety cone, accompanied by a pair of genuine work gloves - a lively and playful representation of the labor process. Additional items such as a brick-shaped notepad, cassette-shaped masking tape, rulers resembling shovels and hammers, and cement-inspired postcards in a variety of textures enrich the thematic experience. Our aspiration is that this endeavor not only expands the general perception of paper, but also sparks fresh inspiration for designers.
