After redesigning the progressive news site in 2018, Truthout asked me to design an interactive annual report. I suggested using the excellent illustrations by their staff artists, and helped them plan the content and sections.

 

The site was developed in (and mostly designed in) Webflow, and took full advantage of the platform’s ability to animate elements. Building in a no-code app allowed us to iterate ideas rapidly, changing things and reviewing them in minutes instead of days.

The intro artwork was originally a static 2D illustration, but I took it apart with the illustrator’s help and animated it for a more engaging opening when users first landed on the page.
