Not Halloween
About the project
The project was created for the Brooklyn the Other Art Fair exhibition (November 2023) in collaboration with Zero10, a digital AR (augmented reality) outfit brand.
The work was conceived as an homage to my favorite artist Yayoi Kusama. I am inspired by her creativity and express my admiration for her collaboration with the top fashion brand Louis Vuitton.
With Halloween approaching, I got the idea to use Kusama's famous pumpkin image. But as a base pattern, I took not the usual dots, but a geometric oriental ornament. One of those traditionally used in Eastern culture to decorate architectural objects with mosaics and paintings. The resulting texture is reminiscent of matlasse silk.
Implementation
Clo3D - sewing digital garment, simulation fabric movement;
Substance Painter - textures;
DAZ Studio - digital avatar, motion animation;
Blender - scene animation, rendering, retopology, Low Poly modeling.
AR effect
The digital outfit was shown at Brooklyn the Other Art Fair in an AR mirror at the Zero10 booth.
To demonstrate the AR effect, a Low Poly model is created, which is set on a special avatar and in this form is transferred to the Zero10 application. Further, in the AR application, anyone can try on the effect.
