About the Brand
Human Asterisk is more than just a clothing and apparel brand, it is a movement that aims to connect people from different walks of life and inspire them to make a positive difference in the world.

Founded by an Entrepreneur based in the US who experienced poverty and hardship in his homeland, he believes that everyone deserves a chance to live a comfortable life. That is why a portion of their profit goes to support various causes and initiatives that empower the underprivileged communities in Nigeria and beyond. By wearing Human Asterisk, you are not only expressing your unique style and personality but also showing your compassion to those who need it most.
The Challenge
When the Founder approached me with his request for a logo for his apparel business, I was eager to help him. But as we had our discovery session, I realized that he had a bigger challenge to overcome. His brand was not well-defined or differentiated from his competitors. He needed to build his brand identity first before designing his logo. He understood the importance of this step and agreed to work with me on it.​​​​​​​
The Strategic Direction
The Founder had a passion for luxury clothing brands and wanted to create his own in this category. But after I did a thorough analysis of the luxury clothing industry, the consumer behavior, the competitors, the trends, and the challenges, I found out that the luxury clothing industry was not a good choice for him, especially during an economic downturn. I shared my findings with him and explained why he should not pursue this direction. He was disappointed, but trusted my expertise and asked me what he should do instead.

I suggested that he should look for a more suitable market opportunity that matched his available resources and values. I did more research and discovered that there was a growing demand for essential clothing lines and apparel. These clothes are comfortable, durable, and versatile. They could be worn for different occasions and purposes, such as work, leisure, exercise, or travel. They also had a positive impact on the environment and society, as they used sustainable materials and ethical practices. I presented this opportunity to him and showed him how he could create a unique and profitable brand in this category.

He was excited by this idea and agreed to work with me on it. We then started the process of building his brand identity for his essential clothing line and apparel.
The Solution
Through the strategic brand-building process, we explored his vision, mission, values, target audience, unique selling proposition, brand personality, and brand voice. We collaborated and co-created his brand story and essence, which became the foundation for his logo design. By doing this, he not only gained clarity and confidence in his business but also a logo that truly reflects his brand and resonates with his customers.

Also, we were able to come up with an ownable Brand Name and a Tagline. Then, I designed a Brand Symbol that could best represent his brand and the rest of his Visual Identity. I also prepared Brand Guidelines to ensure the consistency throughout the implementation.
Brand Vision, Mission, & Advocacy
The brand is not just selling clothes but imparting a great vision. A vision of a world where everyone can enjoy the comfort and quality of life that they deserve.

The brand also encourages its customers and followers to join in their mission of making a difference. By buying from the brand, you are not only getting high-quality and comfortable clothing but also contributing to a noble cause. You are becoming part of a community that cares and shares. You are becoming a Human Asterisk.

The brand is aware that many people are suffering from poverty, hunger, disease, and injustice. The brand wants to help them, by partnering with reputable organizations and charities that work to improve the lives of the less fortunate and pledge five percent (5%) of its profit to those in need.
Shared Values
The brand and its target market share common values. They believe that the future of this planet depends on how we act as humans. They have faith in humanity, hoping for a brighter future, and they strive for quality, both in clothing and in life.

They want to wear clothes that are comfortable, durable, stylish, and ethical. They are not just consumers, but also contributors. They are not just followers, but also leaders. They are not just dreamers, but also doers.
