PRAVILAMAG.RU #009

The autumn issue of "Rules of Life"  /   pravilamag.ru  is dedicated to the transformation of content. Humanity has gone through this process not for the first time, making it even more interesting to examine its causes, results, successes, and failures. How does progress in technology, advertising, and PR affect what we read and watch? How are the rules of the game changing? How do bloggers coexist with traditional media - print magazines, radio, and television - within the same information space? What factors contribute to ratings? Why does what worked yesterday not work today? And most importantly, how will we consume content tomorrow? The editorial team of "Rules of Life" seeks answers through dialogue and heated debates among active participants in the information game. The game itself is presented in the form of a Rubik's Cube - both on the cover and in augmented reality.

Concept

In this issue, we delve into how content has evolved and explore the history of its transformation - as depicted on the cover. From manuscripts and manual printing to wide circulation and word in every home, through microphones, cameras, and screens on the internet, and finally, into every pocket. All of this constitutes an endless process of content migration and transformation, which we have creatively packaged into a Rubik's Cube puzzle.
The format and shell in which content appears in our lives, as well as where and how we prefer to consume or create it, depend on the user's preferences. By twisting the cube and combining all the known methods, you create your unique formula. It's an engaging game that we have embedded into the cover: by scanning the QR code, you can manipulate the cube yourself and place this "content machine" in any space you desire.

Simplicity of experience is a vital component in the adoption of digital habits. For example, before the pandemic, many people didn't know how to scan QR codes because they simply didn't understand their purpose. Now, even elderly individuals are doing it. The same goes for augmented reality: the smartphone screen is too small to contain the vast amount of information people interact with daily. In a few years, digital content overlaid on the physical world will become a part of our everyday lives. Our task today is to showcase what it will look like, to provide the audience with a teaser of the future. Importantly, we are not pulling people into virtual reality; quite the opposite, we are reassuring them that the virtual and real worlds seamlessly intertwine.
