Campaign Poster Design: Leave No Trace
BRIEF
The goal of this project was to design a poster for a campaign that effectively raises awareness or modifies a behavior. The topic chosen for this project is an environmental issue, which is tackled by an existing organization called Leave No Trace. Leave No Trace is a widely-known campaign that educates outdoor enthusiasts about responsible outdoor ethics. Its primary goal is to encourage people to minimize their impact on the environment and wildlife when enjoying outdoor activities.
PROCESS
Although this organization already has a logo, this project allowed exploration in redesigning the logo to emphasize the specific idea of cleaning up after yourself and taking it out with you when outdoors. I strived to combine images of a shoe or feet and plants or landscapes to convey the message of walking through nature because the audience for this campaign are visitors of the outdoors.
FINAL DESIGN
From the two poster designs, the trail design best conveyed the message of walking through the outdoors and properly disposing of waste. For more appeal of the poster, I drew a landscape in white so that it was only noticeable up-close, just to keep the main attention on the trail image. With several revisions of fonts and adjusting the placement of the images, the final poster design was set. The project also required several sticker designs, and so I designed them using the same elements from the poster.
