WipEout 3D model and team concept project

WipEout Team and vehicles 3D concept project
For this project, I concepted a new team, logo and vehicle for the original WipEout game. ending the project with one team logo, a description of that team or company and one 3D rendered model of the team vehicle.
This is the final out come of the vehicle design that I came up with. Similar in shape compared to the other ship designs from the original, but with a unique and interesting twist. The vehicles method of turning is different because Finerill (the team) invented a new system of turning fast moving ships that makes it effective and more reliable on speed. achieved by segmenting the ship into two and having the front end tilt with fins and air flow supporting it and the back end providing the thrust as it stays stationary.
After I had created the team and logo, next was working on the design of the vehicle. starting of with a bunch of small sketches with a assortment of differences between each other. (At this point, I didn't have any ideas behind the ships uniqueness in turning) Using references from similar games to WipEout to games like F-Zero and even star wars. All with the intention on making a new for of vehicle that can make high speeds, but also turn in a different way.
Ending up with a similar shape to the over ships but having less triangular sides from the lack of large plan wings. Replacing them with smaller and more scattered fins across the body and having a bulky but blocky end that incentivize its separation between the front and back parts. After that, I redraw it in Illustrator and coloured it fully in to chose its colour pallet, making over ten to fifteen different colour combinations that could look good with this ship design.
Lastly was creating the 3D version in blender using the Illustrated versions as a template image. The process was long but easy to achieve, came out just like the templates. But with some miner 3D rendering problems that were all caused by my method of creating the fins and other extruded parts to the ship. Texturing it also came out ok, even being able to create the texture in a similar pixel format of 128x128 just like the first games. But ran into more problems with the ends of the ship being blurrier then any were else.
