Summary
The Coca-Cola Careers Expo, held in Auckland over 3 days in June, is the largest careers expo in New Zealand. Targeting school leavers, Generation Y, and skilled workers the Careers Expo provides organisations the opportunity to connect directly with tomorrow's workforce, and provide employment and career information and guidance to prospective employees.
With New Zealand's best educational institutes and universities vying for the attention of prospective students Unitec needed to stand out from the crowd, attracting students to their stand and providing an inspirational and educational experience that set them apart.
Unitec approached Designworks with a brief to create an interactive experience that would increase potential student interest and deliver on the brands promise 'reframing learning to create highly productive talent'. With that in mind 'YouFinder' was born - a viewfinder for your future.
'YouFinder' is a gamified diagnostic iPad app that matches your character type with your future you! The app gives students the ability to explore the 6 key personality types and identify which one they are most like. From here students can explore a number of suggested career options and the associated courses to start the journey towards their future career.
Unitec were clear that the app must encourage prospective students to consider Unitec as being a key step in achieving their career goals. We think the preliminary results speak for themselves.
The results over the 3 day event held in June 2012;
Site visitors: 2,000+
Total Registrations: 1,436
A 397% year on year increase in student registration.
