PhyreBox Dreams: Moon (2022)

ALWAYS carry your dreams with you...

Continuing the ever expanding, ever searching, ever developing, ever building, ever inspiring project that is Dream... Believe... Blaze... series, PhyreBox Dreams: Moon is the moment that sparked the thought of walking on the Moon, and that loving moment carried around, caring for it, nurturing it, protecting it, worshipping it, keeping it alive until that dream came through, no matter how long the wait, it’s true belief, aspiration, rigour and grit.

Dreams become like a religion, they command respect, devotion, sacrifice, and treated with the utmost pride. It’s all too often that dreams and hopes fall by the way side, as we get distracted by other false things… but dig deep, burn hard and reach high to the stars.

PhyreBox Dreams as a concept, much like a spark or dream itself, where the idea can take any shape. Equally so, the form of the vessel works in synch, content organically dictates the form, they are one, the seed of germination and the protective shell it is carried in.

In PBD: Moon a scorched wooden sculpture figure of Buzz Aldrin is held in reverence, an icon, or deity for ideas, much more than an individual, becoming a future for everyone, for humanity.

The box module is also carved wood, scorched, and bears the markings of it’s ultimate destination, with the lunar surface embedded into it on all sides.

Dreams need people believing in them, and the motion sensor captures that, lighting the inside when someone is around, to witness the dream, the proximity lights the environment, demanding attention, lighting our way, keeping it alive.

Materials: scorched wood, gold leaf, leather, LED lights with motion detector.
Vessel/module: 38cm (h) x 16cm (w) x 10cm (d)
Buzz Aldrin: 20cm (h) x 10cm (w) x 9cm (d)

There are many more elements of this series to come, as there are many more dreams...
