In my journey of being a designer, one of the things I love is how diverse my projects can be and the different kinds of brands I get to work with. One such amazing and fun brand was Malayali Aano?™ – a card game that was centred around Malayalam pop-culture and made for all those true Malayalis who wanted to indulge in a fun, party game. Following the style of the popular Cards Against Humanity format, the visual identity of Malayali Aano?™ was vibrant, youthful and brought out the lovely hues of the Kerala landscape in a set of grassy greens, and sky and sea blues.
Malayali Aano?™ had a main channel of social media, which helped them gain popularity as well as inform consumers about availability of the product, new editions and even served as a sort of dictionary or all things Malayalam pop-culture.
The brand's instagram had to capture the essence of the game while also being a platform to raise awareness and bring about intrigue in the game – it's thrilling content as well as an information bank on how to play and much more. This gave it an opportunity to make content that didn't have to be serious but knew when to be, and was fun and lively in the best way. Posts were done in mostly English or Malayalam – sometimes using a mix of both, lovingly known as Manglish (Malayalam written in English).
