For this assignment, I had two partners and two separate designs. The idea was to send the file back and forth resulting in 6 iterations each (12 total). This was an introduction to collaboration, and challenged my creative thinking skills to produce a cohesive result for each of the completed designs. We utilized Adobe Express during this assignment.

Partner 1: Mitchell W.
For this design, the concept I had was what goes through an artists mind while they are creating. I did the first iteration and sent it off to my partner. During this time, we were all communicating via chat and discussing the concepts. It was interesting to see the design evolve throughout each of the iterations.

Iteration 1: Me
I sent the first iteration featuring an illustration of a woman, the blue paint stroke behind her, and the iridescent background.
Iteration 2: Mitchell
My partner added in the gold sparkles and the circular shape around the woman.
Iteration 3: Me
I added in the thought bubble and the lightbulb to signify having an idea for creating something. I also added some bubbles because I felt they looked nice with the iridescent background.
Iteration 4: Mitchell
My partner sent this iteration back and I was pleasantly surprised to see this take on it. He added in the opposite image on the upper hand side, the gold circle around her, and another thought bubble. This idea immediately inspired me, and all I could think about was duality.
Iteration 5: Me
Running with the newfound idea of duality, I decided to try and represent "dark and light" or "negative and positive" between the women. I used different text assets to collage the words "create" on the "light" side, and found a glitched out "ERROR" to add to the "dark" side. I also searched for static to add to the background, and a glitched ring to add around the opposing side.
Final Iteration: Mitchell
My partner added the finishing touches to the images, adding in a sunburst design at the bottom and some lightning bolts at the top. I thought these elements fit into both of the respective sides perfectly.
Partner 2: Rikkie R.
For this design, I had an idea to create an abstract garden. I sent over the first iteration which was very simple. The only real idea I had was mixing illustrative and realistic imagery to play into the abstract aspect.
Iteration 1: Me
I chose a simple light blue background and some realistic daffodils, layered behind some illustrated flowers.
Iteration 2: Rikkie
My partner ran with this idea and added in a beautiful sky background and layered in some more flowers to the garden. She also added in some illustrated birds in the sky.
Iteration 3: Me
I added in a realistic hill, tree, bush, and butterfly. I also chose to do an illustrated house since it was a big focal point of the image, and I wanted to keep up the theme of half illustrative and half realistic.
Iteration 4: Rikkie
Rikkie added in some more detailing to the garden, including some cute insects, bunnies, squirrels, and added to the atmosphere of the project by adding in some rain and a rainbow. She also included a couple walking their dog. I really felt this added some more life to the image.
Iteration 5: Me
I thought about a fun way to add more to the image that was already bursting with personality, so I decided to go a different route and make our "painting" a painting being viewed in a museum.
Final Iteration: Rikkie
Rikkie finished off the image with a few more small details and adjustments.
