I stopped painting when the war came to my city. For many months, at first there were no conditions and forces for this, and then there was no point. Why draw when you don’t know in the morning whether you will see the evening? ..
And then came the bottom of the year. Late autumn, when it's dark all day, when you forget what the sun looks like. Rocket attacks and blackouts. On one of those days, I decided that the only thing I could do in this situation was to continue painting.

I took out a sketchbook and began to draw the life around me. Concentrate in the moment here and now, within the framework of one page, day after day.
