The project consists in creating an original form of a calendar with specially designed package and graphic elements. Our proposal is for a jelly beans calendar with 12 bags full of different types of candy - one for each month. A cardboard label with the corresponding month’s calendar is attached to each bag. A big cardboard box with partitions inside accommodates the content.
The design of the labels is inspired by the colorful checked pattern of the picnic mantels and the box resembles a take-out packaging.
The Sweet Treats logo has retro inspiration with its curvy trim and font. Though, a modern touch has been achieved with the shapes of colorful beans “spilled” around the letters. Another, simpler font is used for the name of each month and the digits on the back of the label. The Jelly Beans original logo is located in black and white in the lower right corner of each label.
For creating the calendar, we used the brand Jelly Belly. Twelve personalized bags of candy were created - a different color and flavor combination according to the months of the year. There is a three-color mix for each three-month season and the quantities of the specific beans varies in order to create a unique taste for each bag. The colorful ribbon and the label color harmonies with each month’s palette.
