Sustainable Modular Units - Multifunctional modules made from sustainable materials
These Modular Units are a proposal for a sustainable and multifunctional concept of home furniture. They include a series of identical units/modules to form a set for a larger piece of furniture, or can be used individually.
They can be arranged in various ways to suit the enviornment needed. Key examples of arrangement sets include coffee tables, being stackable to form shelving units, or indivdually as stools with storage.
These units are intended to be sustainable, utilising recylced materials for the manufacturing of the product and packaging, as well as being flat packed for customers to assemble, reducing the amount of packaging and transportation used.
This design concept was created as a second year project, and was submitted and nominated for the Laser Wizard Innovation Award. CAD models of the product were made in Sketchup. Graphics and posters were made using Adobe Photoshop.
