"neptune's rings" 2011
Birds always come together to discuss serious matters. They did not notice the rings until that night when Neptune was passing between their planet and a star.
- hey, did you see that?
- see what?
- see that star
- which one you are talking about man, there are zillions of them!!!
- if you look long enough towards Neptune, noticing the edges, you will see a star blinking by its side.
- and so whats so special about a blinking light? dont they all blink?
- yes, but there's something else to this one, Neptune is special, not the star.
- ok, so what is special about it.
- It has rings!!! they are faint but they are there. As the planet passes by, its rings blocks the light from the stars which they call stellar occultation.
- I dont get it, but whatever! can I have some of your corn?
- You have no ability to get excited about such an amazing thing.
- Why? I get excited about things. I get excited about corn for instance!
- there goes my enthusiasm, here have some corn!
yeah, thats what they chatter and chirp about all the time!
