Botanica
Box and mug designs for Oxalis, an international tea and coffee brand.
The goal of this project was to depict a beautiful Czech tradition of herbal "tea" production. In my country, tea has been used as a remedy for generations and consists of local herbs, such as chamomile or linden. Each tin box is inspired by one of the following herbs - ginger, chamomile, cinnamon, rose hip, and fennel, accompanied by Latin descriptions.
Why Latin? We thought long and hard about what language to use to describe the box, as the company exports its products internationally. I chose a language that was European, but neutral enough - the Latin of the ancient botanists. The inscriptions add to the mysteriousness of the box and evoke a romantic atmosphere.
