The Light our eyes don't see

“The light that our eyes don't see” is my final project for the professional photography course, at IPF (Instituto Português da Fotografia) that intends to show some of the wonders that are beyond what we can see in a night sky. This type of image also allows us to better understand the vast universe that surrounds us, where there are many scientific discoveries that really show us what we are made of. However, light pollution in Portugal and in the world is increasing, depriving us of seeing what were once inspirations and guides for our ancestors. From landscapes with incredible skies to deep sky photographs, it can be demonstrated that there is still a turning point in the preservation of our sky. This project works as an invitation to explore the universe through the lens of a camera, arousing interest and raising awareness of the theme, capturing images that convey the beauty that is unknown to us.

arrangement of photographs for exhibition
The objective with this arrangement is to show the different and creative compositions and by capturing deep sky images the juries and guests were able to match those images full with glorious colors and shades to their position in the sky on the Double Arc of the Milky Way panorama.
