Hailing from the Isle of Skye and going over 20 years ago, DÁIMH are one of the finest traditional Celtic bands around.
They have released numerous albums and EPs and asked LOOM to create the artwork for their latest album 'SULA'.
From our initial conversations, they referenced out previous artwork for Black Bay Studio and wanted something fresh and dynamic. A bit different from the usual trad album covers.
'SULA' is the old Norse name for 'Gannet' - A seabird that is very prevalent on the Scottish Isles. This was the jumping off point for the graphics. After refining several concepts we came up with a dynamic illustration of diving gannets, that encapsulated the frenetic spirit of the album. This artwork was further developed to fit onto Tea Towels and T-Shirts for the band to sell in their shop.
