Transformers – Media in Disguise

 

The transformers project was an open brief set by the university. The brief was to take a piece of media, find its essence and then transform it into another medium.

 

To begin with I looked at Illuminated Manuscripts at the British Library. I found that the craftsmanship, materials and time spent on manuscripts had been used to add beauty, value and honour to the text.

 

I took these key aspects and made a series of A1 posters combining the hand drawn, typographic and ornamental elements. I used quotes wisdom from the Proverbs in the Bible for the text. The posters are entirely illustrated by hand using metallic gold, silver and coloured pens.
