Ibrahim farahat's profile

Elementary school in Nuba

In my second year of architecture school, I designed an elementary school in Nouba, Egypt, with a focus on incorporating traditional elements and cultural heritage. Using a bearing walls structural system, the school embraced sustainability and cost-effectiveness. The layout featured interconnected courtyards, maximizing natural ventilation and daylighting. The design emphasized flexible spaces for interactive learning and community engagement. Environmental considerations included passive design strategies and rainwater harvesting. The project deepened our understanding of architecture's impact on communities, creating a functional, culturally relevant, and eco-friendly learning environment.
