Jayadwara Percussion | Visual Identity

Jayadwara percussion

Jayadwara Percussion [JDP] is a music group that concentrates on composing exploratory creations based on the scientific conception of Sundanese Karawitan as its main medium. In terms of terminology, it is formed based on two word concepts quoted from Sanskrit, namely "Jaya" means success and "Dwara" means gate. The combination of these two words forms a connotative meaning which is believed to be the gateway to success. Jayadwara Percussion [JDP] has a mission of peace by reflecting musical expressions that come from various cultural backgrounds, so that it becomes something that is universally accepted.

Challenge

It is a challenge and a pride in itself to be able to design a visual identity concept for their glorious Jayadwara Percussion, this is a music group with a world music genre that targets foreign markets as a venue for their music. Of course, with the visual design that I made, it will become a pad that will be seen earlier by the audience. And for this project, I took elements of the uniqueness of the ideas and atmosphere built by Jayadwara Percussion to create a visual identity that truly represents them.

Visual & Logo Concept

The Jayadwara Percussion logo uses the Ambigram style (when rotated 180 degrees the logo will look the same) this style is applied to give a unique and consistent logo shape when viewed from all sides and this will look more elegant

Its main form resembles a door/gate which is taken from the meaning of the name Jayadwara (door/gate of success). And it is hoped that the meaning contained in this symbol will bring Jayadwara Percussion to a farther door in the world of music to carry out its mission of bringing Sundanese karawitan traditional music to the world.

The logo is formed from the letters JDP which stands for Jayadwara Percussion. With the application of graphics that look firm and strong, it means that the ideas developed by Jayadwara Percussion are strong

As well as the application of the monocrom concept by using red as the chosen color because I want to build an emotion of courage from the soul of Jayadwara Percussion because of its strong ideas for the existence of traditional Sundanese karawitan music in the world music scene

And these abstract textures describe the concept of music that is carried, which is more of a contemporary musical element so that this will really build an atmosphere such as mystical, kramat, and so on.
