HIVE, the 3D printed car

HIVE concept has been designed to take full advantage of the completely automated manufacturing technique that is 3D printing. The knowledge of this process gave as a result a piece that can be printed in a single session without the need for support material. It borrows the honeycomb pattern so widely used in nature as an unbeatable structure and was modified to meet manufacturing constrains (angle).

This particular design intends to catch the attention of those who really know 3D printing by showing off very interesting surface work and a completely solid body/chassis. But also makes a statement to those who don't yet know 3D printing, by presenting itself as something that cannot be produced by a different method and that is something that they have never seen before and has something inherently innovative about it.
