Frog sketch - day 21 of posting everyday

Frog sketch

It's first day of the month starting strong with a 21 day streak for "at least one post a day" challenge ! I might try setting up commissions if everything goes well. Thank you so much for the support, I'm getting more and more requests so I plan on continuing.

If you wish to recreate I suggest:
• using a thin paper that isn't high quality if you're a beginner
• art is about practice and making mistakes so don't be afraid of throwing out a few papers
• using a pencil that's on the harder side like most commonly used HB and using softer ones for details like B2
• references help understand how an object (in this case animal) presents itself, maintains balance etc.
• frogs and toads have almost non-existent necks.
• however, most species have large, protruding eyes so they can see in most directions without needing to turn their head.
• most species are also great at hopping in any direction. They have powerful muscles in their back legs, allowing them to hop great distances.
• some frogs can jump over 20 times their own body length, which is similar to a human jumping 30 meters
• frogs come in a variety of colours, but they have two main colour schemes.
• both colour schemes are used for different survival techniques.
• the mottled green and brown colours are used for camouflage, so predators have a more difficult time spotting them.
• meanwhile, the bright colours, like those of the poison frog, signal a warning sign to predators that their skin is toxic.
