The project is a visual identity for an informatics department in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Blue was the color of choice by the client, an university, because it would connect to the already blue identity of the institution.

The identity is based on triangles, reminiscing visually the network flow charts developed by the department.

 

Triangles are also very dynamic shapes, suggesting efficiency and speed of communication. The various triangles are overlaid on top of each other in a visual metaphor to the various pieces of data that are shared every second in the network.

 

The symbol is a linear illustration of the acronym, again based on the idea of the triangular object for agility. The letters are combined, suggesting continuous flow of communication. The type family chosen for the identity was Locator.
