Second Exploration — The Music of Ben Wolkins
Album sleeve and promotional materials design for the 2nd release from Signal Quartet, a jazz collective out of the metro Detroit/Ann Arbor area. Ben Wolkins, the horn player of the group, composed each of the tracks featured on this recording.
This is also my 2nd collaboration with Signal, at the behest of my friend of over 40 years, founding member and bassist Eric Nachtrab.
"Second Exploration – The Music of Ben Wolkins" is a Spiritual Slop Records release.
The joy of working on music project, not to mention one for my oldest friend, lead to the creation of additional collateral in support of the album's release including the album release posters above and a concert poster.
The painting that anchors the album's jacket was created by Eric's brother, San Francisco-based artist Dan Nachtrab. Dan also contributed the artwork used on Signal Quartet's first release.
