LE DERNIER SPECTACLE
À l’occasion d’une magnifique exposition d'affiches intitulée "Illusions - L'art de la magie », plus de 100 affiches de l’âge d’or de la magie ont été présentées au Musée McCord de Montréal. Pour célébrer cette exposition, il ne manquait plus qu’une seule affiche… celle du dernier spectacle d'Houdini! En effet le 22 octobre 1926, au célèbre Théâtre Princess à Montréal, Houdini offre un dernier tour de piste au terme d’une semaine de représentations. Il mourra neuf jours plus tard d’une rupture d’appendice à Détroit. Mystérieusement, aucune affiche promotionnelle n’a été conçue pour cette tournée. Pour accompagner cette exposition unique au Musée McCord et honorer comme il se doit le maître mystificateur Houdini, une affiche et tout un univers graphique ont été créés.
THE LAST SHOW
On the occasion of a magnificent poster exhibition entitled "Illusions - The Art of Magic" more than 100 posters from the golden age of magic were presented at the McCord Museum in Montreal. To celebrate this exhibition there was only one poster missing… that of Houdini's last show! Indeed on October 22 1926 at the famous Princess Theater in Montreal Houdini offered a final tour after a week of performances. He died nine days later of a ruptured appendix in Detroit. Mysteriously no promotional poster was designed for this tour. To accompany this unique exhibition at the McCord Museum and honor the master mystifier Houdini a poster and a whole graphic universe have been created.
