Hand colorizing memories

I love exploring new ways of reinterpreting old photos I have, either analog or digital. Recently I've discovered hand colorizing with liquid watercolors and after exploring the area for a while I realized that what made sense for me was to use the technique to paint photographs in way that portrays the feeling they bring me.

After my mom gave me a few old film rolls she had saved, eternally waiting to be developed, I took matters into my own hands. With that I found some images that reminded me of a particular stage of my childhood where I would have very vivid dreams of having weirdly shaped creatures always hanging around my house, especially at the door of my bedroom, apparently waiting for me to come play with them. I wasn't afraid of them but I would stare at them with curiosity until I woke up. I still remember these dreams so vividly and can now understand why at that time I could'nt really distinguish if I was awake or not when I saw those little friends of mine.

With that being said I decided to colorized some of those photos and some other more recent ones I had the way the younger me felt and dreamt about her surroundings at the time.
