Halo 4 OST Posters

The project was an extension of another project I had done for a Music Packaging for Halo 4 OST.
This time round, my objective is to create 2 Posters, 3 T-Shirts and a choice of merchandise to go with it.

The 2 posters were based on my personal throughts and visuals of 2 soundtracks from the Halo 4 OST, Haven and Ascendancy.

Initially, I was not too sure where I will be going for this brief. I had previously done some visuals which I was happy with, however; I was informed that they are a starting point from which I should be using to develop on further.  The start was slow and lacking variations, however after some solitude time I was able to express my thoughts more freely by relentlessly experimenting with what I had at first for Ascendancy.
After my final crit session we had, I was told that my previous designs were much stronger than the two final ones which I presented. It seemed like I went too far away from what I was initially doing and created something completely different. From this I went back to what I initial started off with and the few variations and worked from there to see what I could do with my posters. I believe that the 2 new designs which I came up with are far much better than what I previously had, as they express my thoughts more clearly unlike the previous ones which seemed to show that I was confused. I realised this after I was told by others. I chose to stick with the distorted typography of ‘Ascendancy’ which I created previously to compliment what I had already done.

T-Shirt Designs:
My choice of T-Shirts derived from the countless experimentation I did for Ascendancy I chose this as I did not create them for a poster specifically, but in general to see which works good as a poster and what might go well on a t-shirt. If I had the chance, I’d choose more than 2 for the posters as well as t-shirts since they all seem to fit quite well on t-shirts. The 2nd T-shirt varies from any of the experimentations which I did because I inverted the colours to get a completely different look and style. I was fascinated by the colour scheme and how the background became white with hints of coloured scratches that were able to easily blend on a white t-shirt.  The mixture of colours I believe came out far much stronger than when it was in its regular format.
