In 2023, I designed and illustrated an ebook for Guy Alo, a cacti expert and founder of Cactusway.com. 

The client approached me with the intention of creating a new layout for his guide to cacti care, enhanced with illustrated infographics. The goal was to design a publication catered to the cacti-lover community, offering valuable information in a visually appealing and accessible manner.

I started by analysing the provided text and immersing myself in the subject matter. This allowed me to identify key concepts and sketch the ideas that could be transformed into infographics.

To ensure visual cohesion, I select the colour scheme and fonts that would evoke a desert-inspired atmosphere, in tune with the origins of cacti. Next, I created the page layout and a few illustrations, that would facilitate ease of navigation and maximize readability. These first assets allowed me to present and discuss the overall visual direction with the client.

The client's valuable feedback allowed me to make refinements and modifications, incorporating their preferences and ideas into the final design. This way, it was ensured that the ebook truly reflected the client's expectations and that the infographics were clear and accurate. Once the visual style was approved, I composed the remaining pages and illustrations of the document.

In conclusion, it was a gratifying experience to work on another science communication project, while helping Guy share his knowledge and skills with cacti enthusiasts.
