Unity Chest Animation

The chest animation I created in Unity for the end-level rewards in our mobile game. I used Unity 2d animation tools for chest, apples and grand prize ribbon. For the "Double It" panel, I used DoTween.

The assets were 3D modeled and rendered. The artists then did overpainting in Photoshop. I exported the layers separately as PNG files and imported them into Unity. After organizing the hierarchy without using bones and rigging, I animated them.

The reason we chose to use PNG layers instead of PSB files is that making changes to the silhouette of the image in a PSB file can disrupt the rigging and animations. When using PNG layers, visual changes have a lesser impact on the animation. Considering that we plan to change the design of the chest cover, working with PNG files was the most logical choice for this case.
