I created this rough sketch book portrait of Maya Angelou in honor of her untimely death on May 28, 2014. Maya Angelou was known for her ability to find the good in people or the positive side to any problem. So I added one of her qoutes into the portrait. I felt the qoute really encapsulated what Maya Angelou was all about.

Here is a close up shot. This pencil portrait was done rather quickly, in comparrsion to over darwings I've posted. This is one of my favorite sketchbook entries to date.
