Whitby has become synonymous with Gothic subculture over the years. Originally celebrated on the weekend of Halloween, the popularity of the event now sees it take place twice yearly. Visitors come to see the often intricate costumes, many home made, and others come to celebrate with like minded people. Moving through the town is often a challenge, as is making clean images. Those in costumed finery are often happy to stop and pose for a photograph, and there are nearly as many photographers as costumed attendees. Through the use of a perspective control lens, I have tries to isolate subjects as well as give the images the feel of being shot with a view camera.
