Alicia Miller's profile

Modernism Reimagined

Elaine Lustig Cohen was a pioneer among female graphic designers of the mid-century. Her career as a graphic designer really began in 1955 when her husband, well-known graphic designer Alvin Lustig passed from diabetes. This tragedy pushed her into the design field, as Lustig's clients requested she take over his on-going projects. Elaine had a rich career in the design industry, working as a designer and artist until her death in 2016. This book was designed as a tribute to her innovative design and inspiring story as one of the first prominent female designers of the 50's and 60's.
