UN PORTALE PER L'INATTUABILE

IT I mezzi ed i dispositivi tramite cui l'arte viene rappresentata si sono sviluppati in simbiosi con i mutamenti sociali, economici e culturali che hanno accompagnato la storia del mondo. Questo progetto di tesi si pone come via alternativa al percorso che l'arte digitale sta percorrendo nel corso degli ultimi anni, così da delineare una strada che porti i nuovi medium ad ottenere una dignità pari a quella dei propri veterani concorrenti, ripercorrendo la storia della realtà virtuale nel mondo dell'arte e di come sia diventato un potente strumento nelle mani dei moderni curatori digitali. Il libro racchiude il percorso di ricerca che ha portato alla creazione di DOME. Un servizio di curatela e museo in realtà virtuale che nasce con l'obiettivo di sostenere gli artisti affinché l'arte digitale non resti costretta all'interno di anfratti trasandati, portando a brillare le opere che sono state per troppo a lungo avvolte dalla polvere di ambienti non abbastanza curati.
EN The means and devices through which art is represented have developed in symbiosis with the social, economic, and cultural changes that have accompanied the history of the world. This thesis project presents an alternative path to the direction that digital art has been taking in recent years, in order to outline a path that leads new mediums to achieve a dignity equal to that of their veteran counterparts, retracing the history of virtual reality in the art world and how it has become a powerful tool in the hands of modern digital curators. The book encapsulates the research journey that led to the creation of DOME, a virtual reality curatorial service and museum that aims to support artists so that digital art does not remain confined within neglected corners, bringing to light the works that have for too long been enveloped in the dust of inadequately cared for environments.

IT Nella mostra di apertura di DOME, “The Genesis”, sono presenti nove artisti poliedrici che condividono un comune interesse per l’esplorazione delle possibilità offerte dalla realtà virtuale in campo artistico. Nel libro è presente una sezione a loro dedicata, in un fuori formato costruito per accogliere il profilo di ogni artista.
