San Miguel Arcángel to São Miguel das Missões

San Miguel Arcángel was a Jesuit-Guarani mission founded in 1632 in the territories of present-day Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Ruined and abandoned due to territorial conflicts between Portugal and Spain in the 18th and 19th centuries, it was "rediscovered" and today is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.Taking inspiration from Joseph Maria Cabrer's artwork "View and Elevation of the Church of the Village of São Miguel," my aim was to depict the re-signification of the place as time unfolds.
