Overview
Spitfire is a premium candle brand that specializes in creating high-quality scented candles using natural ingredients. The company is committed to providing customers with unique, handcrafted candles that enhance their homes' ambiance while promoting relaxation and well-being. Spitfire is looking to launch a new line of candles that appeals to a wider audience and establishes the brand as a leader in the candle industry.
PROJECT GOAL
The goal of this project is to create a visual system for the packaging of Spitfire that captures the attention of customers and sets the brand apart from its competitors. The new designs of this line should feature a consistent design system that appeals to different demographics and occasions.
Target Audience
They should appeal to a broad demographic, including young adults, parents, and individuals who prioritize natural products. Different candles should appeal to different occasions, but overall have enjoyable scents that will enhance the atmosphere of the user.
1| AESTHETICS & INSPIRATION
When creating this mood board, I wanted to gather ideas for more than just the logo since I am also creating a visual system for the overall packaging of the candle. This includes the outer packaging and label of the candle.

My overall goal for this mood board was to find a good balance between elegance in design and the atmosphere of comfort and sense of handcraft from the candle company.
2| LOGO
I created the logo to be simplistic yet to also provide an elegant atmosphere to the visuals of the candle's packaging. To create the logo, I thought of the main elements of  a candle and divided them up in to three main elements; the flame, the match, and the base. To provide the distinguished and elegant atmosphere for the packaging I opted to use a semi-high contrast serif font.
3| VISUAL SYSTEM & PACKAGING
Depending on the type of scent, the color scheme and illustration of the packaging changes, however, each scent's packaging keeps a consistent look through its illustration style, typographic detail, and repeating graphic elements.

The packaging contains 4 main faces on the outer packaging; the top face, the main face (which appears twice on opposite ends), the scents hook, and the hook for Spitfire as a brand.
The top face:
Contains the smaller version of the logo in the designated color which is dependent on the type of scent.

The main face:
This face appears twice on opposite ends of the box. It contains a larger version of the logo, the name of the scent, and an illustration to provide some visualization to the scent.

The scents hook:
On one face of the box contains a hook to sell the scent to the user as well as a second different illustration.

Spitfire's hook:

On the last face of the box contains another hook to sell the company and tells the user what they are about. It also contains graphic elements from the logo, what size candle they are purchasing, a QR code to send them to their website, and finally the company's slogan, "Ignite your senses with Spitfire"
The label:
This goes on the candle itself. It contains the logo, scent and both illustrations, as well as a shorter hook for the scent and what to expect. Each label contains a caution warning as well as the size of candle.
Each illustration was drawn by hand, and within each illustration is the two main ingredient combinations for their regarded scent. The illustration style was made to be consistent all throughout and was made to specifically show the atmosphere of comfort and sense of handcraft from the candle company, hence the hand drawn illustrations.
The possible sizes of candles are shown on the packaging, with the one they are getting being the at the front, while the other possible option is in the back with a lower opacity. This was done so that it can be easily interchangeable depending on the candle size.
