This is a percussion recital invitation poster I made for my boyfriend Daniel. He is a fantastic musician and specializes in mallet instruments and snare drum. 

I made this poster for him in the style of a Saul Bass-y paper cut look and took some inspiration from Hans Rudi's Opel poster with the torso and a broad range of jazz posters. My goal was to make a poster that plays with exaggeration and imperfection.

Here are the thumbnails of my ideas of the poster. I definitely leaning towards a playful and messy look. I wanted it to look simple and just show one or parts of a bigger image.

Here is the poster in action. I also made an additional version which has arrows pointing in the direction of the recording studio which is where the recital was held. Due to time, it was not made in the desired size but I was still happy with the result.
