This was one of the first major projects in my DDN-101 course this past semester.
Our professor tasked us with utilizing shapes to illustrate 5 prominent design principles — movement, symmetry, the “golden mean,” negative shape, and asymmetrical balance.
Over the course of a few days, I experimented through an array of thumbnails — drawing these with 2B, 4B, and 6B pencils. Other accessories included a compass and ruler.
I created the final iterations using Faber-Castell S (0.3), F (0.5), M (0.7), and B (1-5 mm) India ink pens.
I retouched the scanned images in Photoshop.
