Using the faces of many divisive public figures within current global events, this piece is a unique satirical exposé on controversial events government bodies have fought to hide from our press. It also visualises the freedom fighters or journalists that have been threatened, imprisoned or even murdered at the behest of those endangering the freedom of information.
The UV light illuminates the hidden truths, creating a scenario where the viewer has to search for the information themselves, analogous to the difficult and often dangerous research investigative journalists have to conduct in order to reveal information. Created for a Freedom of the Press conference in Fleet Street, London, this piece was exhibited in June, 2022.
