Australian Refugee posters

The project was to create 4 different posters that presented the same issue in a different way but still connecting to each other. Rhetoric and semiotics created the foundation and understanding of the posters. Using symbols and colours provided a relationship between each poster to create a set of posters that work separately and together.

The perspective view is based on the Australian public and how their taxes are being spent on preventing boat people from arriving in Australia. This view was chosen instead of presenting the issue through the suffering and personal account of a refugee because it expresses another side to the issue.

The message is to inform the public on how much of their taxes are being spent on stopping boats when it could be spent on education, public health systems and roads. A better solution is needed that will effectively and efficiently deal with the issue as againist to spending more of Australian taxes is not resolving the problem.
