Oil and acrylic painting on wood panel. Inspired by photos of a red-eyed tree frog and heliconia taken in Costa Rica, the piece was first composed as a digital collage in Procreate. The composition was then hand-drawn onto a 30inx40in wood panel. An acrylic background, as well as acrylic underpainting for the subjects, was applied. Details for the frog and heliconia were then applied using oil paint.
