Project Brief:
Laryngopedia is a multimedia encyclopedia for terms and concepts relating to laryngology, or in layman's terms, the study of disorders in the throat and airway. The project included a logo redesign, a website facelift, and a library of illustrations to be used across all branding mediums. Preview the full website here: laryngopedia.com

Project included: brand identity, logo design, web design, motion graphics, video editing
The logo was redesigned to match the logo for the doctors private practice, Bastian Voice Institute. The color palate was chosen to give the logo a more professional and modern feel, letting people know the content they find on Laryngopedia is relevant and up to date. A metallic sign was also created to be used as a backdrop for his educational videos on YouTube.
Once the logo was updated, I began an overhaul of the website design and structure, removing duplicate posts, reorganizing category hierarchy, and revamping the website to include more links and ease of use when exploring the encyclopedia. Many of the encyclopedia entries were widows without any referring links to other posts. Below you see a redesign of the home page. The old design had no visual hierarchy, no scrolling, and no images that break up the text.
I created a collection of illustrations to be used on the website and in Social Media. They started out as vector illustrations, but I ended up tracing them in Photoshop to give a more academic and detailed styling.
A big part of Laryngopedia are teaching videos geared towards educational analysis and review of common laryngeal disorders. Since much of the information is very specific and detailed, a big challenge involved making attractive thumbnails for the average YouTuber to click on.

I also worked on the production of the videos, editing the clips together and including motion graphics to help simplify complex topics. All videos made in the last 2 years were produced by me. Some noteworthy examples are Can't Vomit? and Using you Ears to Understand Airway Narrowing.
